Corporate Responsibility Report 2017-2018
- Health and Safety
Southwestern Energy’s business strategy and corporate responsibility (CR) are strongly linked. Operating responsibly is not only the Right Thing to do, it’s good business. Our CR efforts reduce costs, minimize risks and safeguard employees and communities. Serving as a good neighbor translates into better company performance overall.
We are constantly on the forefront of developing and embracing new technologies to reduce emissions and other operational impacts throughout the hydrocarbon value chain, directly aligning with our strategy.
In early 2018, we updated our assessment of SWN’s key corporate responsibility issues by interviewing internal and external stakeholders about the company’s activities specifically and energy development generally.
SWN’s corporate responsibility strategy follows our Formula. We identify and implement innovative solutions to unconventional hydrocarbon development to minimize the environmental and community impacts of our activities. Our Board of Directors has a Health, Safety, Environment and Corporate Responsibility Committee that oversees CR-related issues.
SWN regularly engages with a wide range of stakeholders, including investors, employees, contractors, customers, landowners, local community members, government officials, and individuals from environmental groups and universities.
