Corporate Responsibility Report 2017-2018
- Health and Safety
SWN is committed to safeguarding employees, contractors and neighbors who work at and live near our operations. To deliver on this commitment, we integrate responsible health and safety management into our business decisions, with a focus on prevention. Employees work side-by-side with our contractors as ONE Team with one goal: zero safety incidents.
SWN leaders are evaluated on and held accountable for the health, safety and environment (HSE) performance of their respective teams. Our management and performance evaluation systems require that HSE issues never be considered secondary to financial and/or operational issues.
In 2017, we completed in-depth HSE assurance assessments of all our major operating divisions. Based on these assessments, each division has developed goals and improvement plans to further advance our safety performance.
We are enhancing our efforts to integrate our contractors and employees into ONE Team with a shared culture of openness and continuous improvement – working together to share resources and lessons learned to make sure everyone returns home safely every day.
We achieved outstanding safety performance in 2017, achieving a record low Total Recordable Injury Rate for employees and contractors and improvements in other key metrics as well.
SWN employees receive a wide range of employee benefits. Our health and well-being program – called “The Right You” – promotes well-being in four focus areas: physical health, financial health, social health and community health.
